DDC Delhi assisted the Planning Department in conducting a study of 3,450 households availing of the subsidies provided for various government services in Delhi’s 11 districts in March 2020 to assess its cumulative effect on the socio-economic lives of citizens of Delhi as well as on the local economy. The study’s results, compiled in this report, reveal that various subsidies save a city household an average of INR 2,464 per month and have a significant impact on the savings and expenditure of benefitted households. The report recommends that the subsidies may be continued for the socio-economic development of the people living at the bottom of the pyramid.
