In December 2020, the Dialogue and Development Commission of Delhi and Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy entered into a strategic partnership to work on the next generation of solutions to further reduce air pollution in Delhi NCR. Both the institutions will work closely to suggest and analyse policy and legal reforms to tackle the air pollution problem.

The two organizations will work towards the following objectives –

  • Prepare an inventory of all directions related to air pollution in Delhi and NCR passed by the National Green Tribunal, High Courts, EPCA, and the Supreme Court of India since the year 2017
  • Analysis of court directions to chart out responsibilities of various authorities and government departments in their respective jurisdiction in controlling air pollution
  • Suggest policy and legal reforms to monitor and check the air pollution in Delhi

Vidhi is an independent think-tank doing legal research to make better laws and improve governance for the public good. Vidhi engages with the Government of India, various state governments, the Judiciary, and other public institutions to inform policy-making and also to effectively convert the policy into law.
