In November 2018, Delhi government published its first ever draft Electric Vehicle policy laying out a comprehensive vision of bringing about a material improvement in Delhi’s air quality by bringing down emissions from transport sector. The Draft Delhi Electric Vehicle policy seeks to drive rapid adoption of Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) in a manner where they contribute to 25% of all new vehicle registrations in 5 years.

On 18th December 2018, the Dialogue and Development Commission of Delhi, in collaboration with the Rocky Mountain Institute, organised a day long series of stakeholder consultations with representatives from industry, academic and civil society on various segments of Delhi’s ambitious draft Electric Vehicle Policy.
